The Global Triple Crisis with Environmental Toxins and Health Risks in Focus
Environmental toxins are pervasive, found in packaging, clothing, cosmetics, and more. They contaminate our air, water, and food, posing risks to health, biodiversity, and climate. Despite treaties and regulations, progress is hindered by implementation challenges and non-compliance, while unsafe production and consumption worsen these impacts.
Our seminar will explore chemical risks and potential solutions. The Green Transition offers both risks and opportunities, but urgent, science-based action is needed to prevent future chemical threats.
This builds on insights from the Uppsala Health Summit 2023, Chemical Pollution and One Health, where scientists and representatives from the health, environment and industry sectors, as well as international organisations, discussed the necessary measures to protect people, animals and the environment from the harmful effects of chemicals.
