Apply for a scholarship to attend Uppsala Health Summit 2017
Uppsala Health Summit believes that progress requires contribution from all actors representing different parts of the society and different parts of the world. We are happy to announce that the Swedish Institute has decided to fund a limited number of scholarships covering costs for travel, hotel and meals.
This year’s focus for Uppsala Health Summit, Tackling infectious disease threats, is a truly global challenge. To build sustainable strategies and implementing a One Health approach, collaboration is needed over geographical borders.
We are therefore most grateful to the The Swedish Institute, which has decided to grant up to ten scholarships to delegates coming from countries eligible to receive official development assistance, according to the OECD list of ODA-countries.
Candidates that wish to apply must send in their application no later than July 30th. The application shall both show that the candidate has a sufficient understanding of the challenge, either from a strategic, a practical or an academic perspective. As Uppsala Health Summit is an arena to enable change, the applicant also needs to show a willingness and a capacity to initiate processes once back in their daily professional activity, aiming to implement ideas gained during the Summit.
During the Summit, there will be ample opportunities to connect with professionals from other countries and sectors, either during the workshop discussions or during the coffee breaks. We encourage all delegates to make use of these days to lay ground for collaborations supporting implementation and development of One Health strategies.
Separate information will be sent out to possible candidates, but we kindly ask you to assist us in identifying additional suitable candidates. Nominate your candidate by sending a mail to firstname.lastname@example.org, or nominate your candidate on our web. Don’t forget the short motivation for the nomination!
