The Medical Products Agency (MPA) is the Swedish national authority responsible for regulation and surveillance of the development, manufacturing and marketing of drugs and other medicinal products. Our task is to ensure that both the individual patient and healthcare professionals have access to safe and effective medicinal products and that these are used in a rational and cost-effective manner.


The National Veterinary Institute, SVA, is a Swedish national authority that strives for good animal and human health, a good environment and sustainable food production.The most important role of the National Veterinary Institute, is to align the activities towards contagious and other serious infectious diseases of animals that imply a threat to supplies of animal foodstuffs, that lead to losses for the production of animals, that concern pets, or involve diseases that can be transferred to humans, i.e., zoonoses.

National Food Agency is an autonomous government agency reporting to the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation. We work towards the following goals; healthy dietary habits, safe foods and fair practices in the food trade. Our tools are regulations, recommendations and communication. Our recommendations and communication support consumers in their everyday life, for example when shopping, feeding their children and cooking. Guiding consumers towards healthy dietary habits is a big challenge and a very important task for the National Food Agency.


Uppsala Monitoring Centre is dedicated to helping achieve safer use of medicines for patients everywhere, through the science known as pharmacovigilance. UMC is an independent, non-profit foundation, a centre for international scientific research, based in Sweden and closely associated with WHO. The aim is to help make the world a better place for patients and their communities.


Forte is a research council and a government agency under the Swedish Ministry of Health and Social Affairs. On behalf of the government Forte initiates and finances research in the areas of health, working life and welfare. The research council also evaluates the effects of research and how the results can be translated into practice, and works actively with dissemination of knowledge. Forte creates arenas where research and the future form the central focus.

The Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation works to ensure that affected children, teens and their families receive the care and support they need. The foundation was founded in 1979 by parents of children with cancer, with the aim of creating a more hopeful future for children and teens diagnosed with cancer. The Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation is the coordinating body and national umbrella association for the country’s six regional childhood cancer associations. The Foundation has four important areas of operation: Research and training, information, advise and support and fundraising.
